Driving directions:

*From Rt. 1 southbound or northbound, take exit marked "Rt. 33/ Market Street/ Train Station." Follow signs for Rt. 33 East.

From Rt. 1 southbound: At bottom of ramp, go left onto S. Stockton Street. Take immediate left at next light onto Market Street. Go under Rt. 1 overpass and through next light. THEN [go to ** below] ..

From Rt. 1 northbound: at light at bottom of ramp, turn right. THEN [go to ** below] ..

**get into center lane as you cross bridge over the railroad tracks. At the following light, bear left onto Greenwood Avenue (Rt. 33 East). Stay on Greenwood to second light, then turn right onto Chestnut. Go two blocks. Bethany Presbyterian Church is on the left at the next light, corner of Chestnut and Hamilton Ave. Parking in bank lot on right side of Chestnut. The church entrance is on Hamilton Ave., the third entrance down [past the sanctuary and the food bank].

Option A: Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 9. Bear right after tollbooth onto Rt. 18 North (yes, North), go up slight rise, then bear left (caution: much traffic is merging from the left.) You will see sign for Rt. 1 North on right - DO NOT TAKE. Immediately after you pass sign for Rt. 1 North, bear right fairly quickly. You will then see sign for Rt. 1 South/ Trenton/ Princeton on the right. Take this exit (caution: sharp turn) onto Rt. 1 South.

After driving about 30 minutes (or ½ hour, depending upon how fast you drive), Rt. 1 will split (this is after the light at Bakers Basin Road). Bear left onto elevated highway towards "Trenton, Philadelphia." (Right fork is for North Trenton, Rt. 1 Business District - DO NOT TAKE.)

Continue to exit marked Rt. 33/ Market St./State St./Train Station. Then see *, above.

Option B: Take the Garden State Parkway -- or the NJ Turnpike to Exit 7A -- to I-195 West toward Trenton. As I-195 ends, follow signs for Rt. 129 toward Trenton. (Do not take I-295.) After a few minutes on Rt. 129, at 3rd light, turn right onto Hamilton Ave. Go to second light -- intersection with Chestnut. Bethany Presbyterian Church is across Chestnut on left; parking is behind bank on your direct left.

Option C: Take I-295 North (if you don't, you shouldn't be reading this section). Take Exit 60 (I-195/Trenton/Rt. 129/ Rt. 29). Follow signs for Rt. 129. At 3rd light (Hamilton Ave.), turn right. Go to second light, intersection with Chestnut. Bethany Presbyterian Church is across Chestnut on left; parking is behind bank on your direct left.

Option D: Take Rt. 1 North to exit marked "Rt. 33/ Market Street/ S. Clinton/ Train Station." See *, above.

Option E: Take Rt. 29 South to Market Street Exit. (Caution: it is a left-hand exit.) Continue straight on Market Street. After 6th light, you will see the Route 1 overpass ahead of you. Go under it, through next light, and follow **, above.

[Note re RETURN TRIP: To return to Rt. 29 North, retrace your path to Market Street, go under the Rt. 1 overpass (NOT onto Rt. 1), and through 6 more lights. After 6th light, road makes hard right. Then stay left for Rt. 29 North. Watch for small signs.]
